Jedd Medefind

Jedd Medefind loves journeying life with his beautiful wife, Rachel, and their four kids—Siena, Marin, Eden and soon-to-be-born Lincoln. They recently moved from their postage stamp of a home on Capitol Hill, sojourning 3,000 miles in a Penske truck to return to family and roots in the Golden State.

Jedd now serves as President of the Christian Alliance for Orphans. The Alliance unites orphan-serving organizations and churches to ignite passion and build excellence for Christ-honoring orphan care, foster youth and adoption ministry. Previously, Medefind served in the White House, leading the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. In this role, he guided reform efforts across the government to make the creativity and compassion of community-based nonprofits central in all Federal efforts to aid the needy, from prisoner reentry to Global AIDS. Jedd also held a range of posts in the California State Legislature, and helped establish the California Community Renewal Project, which strengthens nonprofits in some of the state’s most challenged communities.

Jedd co-authored Four Souls, which explores questions of faith, purpose, poverty, and community amidst a real-life journey around the globe. His most recent book, The Revolutionary Communicator, examines what it means to live as an apprentice to Jesus in the way we speak, listen and lead.

[...] Jedd Medefind, Executive Director of Christian Alliance for Orphans, writes about Together for Adoption: Together for Adoption represents a tremendous unity of the why and the how of orphan ministry. It is rooted where we must always begin: that we love because He first loved us. Our identity must precede, inform and guide all our actions. But they don’t stop there. From a Gospel-centered foundation, Together for Adoption leads forward to the specific ways that believers can engage orphan ministry in ways large and small. This is a potent combination of mind, heart and hands. [...]

Jedd, we were so blessed to have you participate as speaker of the house at our 4H California Focus programs. I was so pleased to find that not only are you a Christian, but also outspoken compassionate conservative, and a proponent of adoption. I wanted to e-mail you privately but couldn’t find an addy for you anywhere. God bless you at the Adopting for Life conference. As the last two of our five children approach adulthood I hope to get more involved in helping people adopt and saving lives of the unborn. IN Christ, JulieBeth Lamb, Stanislaus county, CA
